Hey!
This might be the best week of the year to be a dog in New York.
Halloween lands on Saturday, and the costume contests run all week. Bushwick Bark's 15th Annual Doggy Costume Contest kicks things off at Vacations on Wednesday, and on Friday La Piovra's garden hosts the Ultimate Halloween Dog Bash, with dinner for two for the best costume.
Saturday is the big one. The Halloween Harvest Festival at Socrates Sculpture Park runs what it bills as the city's second-largest dog costume contest.
Not everything is Halloween. Put a Leash On It, a singles mixer at Boris & Horton on Wednesday, is for anyone hoping their next date is a dog lover too. Thursday has pet portraits at NY Dog Spa and I Love Funny People, a comedy show at Barrow's Intense.
Dress up your best friend and let them have the run of the city.
