Hey!
Your dog has had a long winter too.
And while the couch has its place, the city is calling.
Right now is the sweet spot — warm enough to be outside, not yet too hot to actually enjoy it.
This week is stacked.
Some of it built around your dog — and some of it is exactly the kind of chic, only-in-New-York stuff you've been waiting for, with your dog as the special guest star.
In this week’s email:
Totally Tubular: An 80’s attack with costumes encouraged.
Walk and Serve: Community canine fashion show.
Woofstock: Badass is putting on a street festival.

Tuesday May 12th

Bark at the Park @ Citi Field, on Tue, 12 May, 19:10
The Mets' final Bark at the Park of 2026 — dogs sit with their humans in the Coca-Cola Corner, with a pre-game pup parade on the field for early arrivals. A portion of every ticket benefits North Shore Animal League America.

Dog-Friendly Trivia @ Hudson Hound, on Tue, 12 May, 19:00
A weekly general knowledge trivia night in the West Village where the dogs are expected to pull their weight. Reserve a spot and let them earn their keep.
Wednesday May 13th

Wagular Wednesdays @ Sojourn Social, on Wed, 13 May, from 17:00
Every Wednesday this UES bar switches to yappy hour pricing for humans and puts out a barkcuterie board for the dog — the enclosed back patio keeps things contained and the crowd is reliably other dog parents. A standing weekly plan worth adding to the rotation.

Wooftop Wednesdays @ Rosa's at Park, on Wed, 13 May, 16:00–20:00
The Bronx's only rooftop happy hour built around dogs — drink specials, a dedicated dog menu, and sunset views over Mott Haven. Advance tickets required; spots go fast.
Thursday May 14th

Muddy Paws 10th Anniversary Gala, on Thu, 14 May, 19:00
A milestone celebration for one of NYC's most active rescues — the outdoor mixer portion is dog-friendly for alumni ticket holders. Details and venue TBA; worth checking the calendar if you've adopted through them.

Puppy Party @ JustFoodForDogs, on Thu, 14 May, 18:30
A free weekly trainer-led session for puppies who haven't yet cleared group play — sanitized space, experienced handlers, and a controlled environment that actually builds confidence. Email RSVP required in advance.
Friday May 15th

Sip and Paint a Pet Portrait @ Barking Dog Hell's Kitchen, on Fri, 15 May, 17:30
An instructor-led painting class where your dog naps at your feet while you figure out how to capture their face on canvas. A Friday night that produces something worth keeping.

Furry Fridays @ AKC Museum of the Dog, on Fri, 15 May, 10:00–17:00
Every Friday the museum opens its doors to leashed, well-socialized dogs — the current exhibition, Scotland: The Brave Dogs, runs through July 5. Time slots must be reserved in advance.
Saturday May 16th

It's A Doggy Fashion Show @ 306 West 128th St, on Sat, 16 May, 11:00–16:00
A free community event in Harlem hosted by NYPD Manhattan Patrol Borough North — dogs welcome, community organizations on site, open to anyone. The kind of Saturday that doesn't need a reason beyond getting out.

80s Pawrty @ Boris & Horton, on Sat, 16 May, 19:00–21:00
A full retro takeover of the East Village café — 80s hits, neon vibes, a polaroid station, and your first drink included. Costumes encouraged for both species; your dog will almost certainly outshine you.

Rooftop Drinks @ Westlight, on Sat, 16 May, from 15:00
One of Brooklyn's best rooftops opens for the season — the Turf Club and lower terrace both welcome dogs, with skyline views across the Manhattan waterfront. A recurring weekend spot worth claiming early.
Sunday May 17th

Woofstock: Badass Street Fest @ Canal Bar, on Sun, 17 May, 12:00–17:00
A free outdoor street festival in Brooklyn with rescue dogs, local vendors, food, drinks, and enough going on that you'll stay longer than planned. The kind of Sunday that fills itself.

Smorgasburg @ Prospect Park, on Sun, 17 May, 11:00–18:00
NYC's largest weekly food market — 100+ vendors, a full outdoor bar, and dogs officially welcome at the Sunday Prospect Park location. Note: the Saturday Williamsburg location does not allow dogs.

Walk to Cure Arthritis @ Foley Square, on Sat, 16 May, 09:00
A charity walk in Lower Manhattan where dogs are celebrated as K9 teammates — water stations and bandanas provided for the canine contingent. A morning that gives the walk a reason.
Monday May 18th

Dog House Mondays @ Lucky Dog, on Mon, 18 May, 18:00
A casual weekly social hour in Williamsburg built around dog owners — happy hour specials for you, treats for them. No plan needed; just show up.

Ask a Dog Expert
Always wondered something about your dog
but never got a real answer on?
We're putting together a section where Dog World readers get answers from people who actually know their stuff: vets, trainers, groomers, and more. If something's been on your mind, this is the place to send it.
Hit reply and ask.

Get out there this week and make the most of it.
And if you've got a question about your pup, send it over — it might be the next one we take to an expert.
